Using the latest in Wind Tunnel technology along with sophisticated CFD computer modelling, the Hurricane® Plus ventilator is a radical departure from traditional wind ventilators. Whilst Hurricane® Plus is stationary with no moving parts, it is more efficient and effective than any rotating ventilator. With no moving parts Hurricane® Plus needs virtually no maintenance and will last a lifetime.
The regular wind patterns of the Arabian Gulf, means that the Hurricane® Plus induced ventilator effectively removes heat, humidity and fumes from a single storey building structures, such as warehouses, factories, workshops and logistics facilities throughout the long hot summer.
Hurricane® Plus boosts the performance of the natural ventilation of industrial buildings. Unlike the improbably named 'turbovent' roof ventilators, Hurricane® Plus has a patented geometry that reduces static pressure resistance whilst the large cylindrical shape increases the wind induction effect.
With no blades or bearings, Hurricane® Plus does not suffer from the failures of so called 'turbovents' or other rotary head roof ventilators.

Recent research into Occupational Health & Safety has highlighted the essential need for acceptable indoor air quality standards.
High temperatures, humidity and carbon monoxide have a negative effect on workers efficiency. For every degree above the body’s core temperature (37%), human efficiency drops up to 15%. Humidity levels over 50% can cause severe human thermal stress problems. Carbon Dioxide levels over 1500ppm contributes to fatigue, headaches and drowsiness.
Higher temperatures causes machinery to run inefficiently and suffer burn outs. High humidity levels in machines creates corrosion and lubrication problems. By ventilating an enclosed space correctly, productivity will increase - and the return on investment will be quickly and continuously sustained.
To further evaluate the performance of the wind driven ventilators, four small light weight impellers (flow indicators) were fitted at ninety degrees around the periphery of the exhaust neck.
The flow indicators were monitored continuously during the day for a period of a week. Two major observations were made:-
From these observations we were able to deduce that the Bernoulli Effect was more powerful on the static unit than on the rotating head unit and the rotation of the head did not influence the flow through the exhaust. Plainly as the wind veered the smooth or laminar flow was detached and needed the wind to settled down before it reattached.
The wind flow attached more quickly on the smooth surface than on the rotating surface. By timing the periods of flow it was determined that the static unit created more flow by a 30 percentage more of that than the rotating head. Clearly the rotating head is not a smooth surface.
This is shown by the videos taken at the time. So why is a rotating head fitted to a ventilator if it does not contribute to the flow, creates more turbulence and uses some of the wind energy to turn the head (wasted). One obvious explanation is that it keeps the rain, dust and stray birds from entering the exhaust neck.
Over time smart and clever marketing professionals called these rotating heads “ turbovents” a word that does not exist and a physical property that is impossible to achieve.
Hurricane® Plus brings the facts to the market. By ingenious patent pending design a roof ventilator has been invented that accomplishes these desired properties without rotating by using the laws of Physics.
By excluding bearings and not having concerns over weight Hurricane® Plus can be manufactured in stronger and more thick special Aluminium alloy material for a much longer life.
1. Brand new design using latest computerized technology; removing heat, humidity, dust/sand and fumes better than ANY other ventilation product.
2. Increases productivity by 15%+. Reduce absenteeism, staff turnover.
3. Reduces maintenance, lubrication and breakdowns of machinery.
4. Needs no maintenance, repair or replacement (20 year warranty).
5. Works 24/7, removing heat and humidity from buildings at night.
6. ROI: 2-4 years. Less than 1 year,If replacing/instead of electrical exhaust fans.

The simplicity of the Hurricane® Plus overcomes the hazards and complications affecting the old rotating wind ventilators, and eliminates the bearing systems that are prone to failure.
The Hurricane® Plus has undergone extensive testing at the University of Adelaide Wind Tunnel at Theborton. These tests were performed in accordance with AS 4740-2000, the world’s only standard for “natural ventilation”. This standard was created by Standards Australia to ensure that the best performance was achieved from Australian natural ventilation products. The Hurricane® Plus unit exceeds all the requirements of this standard.
It is also standard ISO 9001 Certified.

With thousands of older versions of wind driven ventilators installed throughout the Gulf region, Hurricane® Plus offers greater ventilation flow rates that will save you money and significantly improve productivity. Designed in Australia and manufactured exclusively under license in the UAE to the highest tolerances, Hurricane® Plus comes with a 20 year warranty.
Manufactured from marine-grade aluminium in Dubai, Hurricane® Plus is robust, efficient and of the highest quality. Built to withstand the Middle East’s rigorous climate.
Hurricane® Plus is stationery and virtually cyclone-proof but is light and needs no additional roof reinforcement. There is no dynamic loading. It is also guaranteed 100% waterproof, no matter what weather conditions.
Hurricane® Plus requires no electricity or maintenance and will ventilate day and night, year after year.
Even at low wind speeds, the Hurricane® Plus patented configuration allows hot air to rise and be exhausted out of the roof space.
Cleverly designed to allow air to flow out, Hurricane® Plus prevents rain from entering – even in cyclonic conditions.

As well as removing heat, fumes and dust, Hurricane® Plus is excellent at lowering humidity in your premises. During the day, moisten laden air enters and accumulates in the hot stratified roof space of a building that is sealed and waterproof, and cannot let the moisture out. As it cools in the evening the temperature drops, lowering the vapour pressure and elevating the dew point. Consequently, and particularly during high humidity, water condenses on the building structure. This can mean a continuous build up of humidity during the summer months, that can cause serious damage, and is very uncomfortable to work in.
Natural ventilation works 24 hours, so as well as removing humidity in the daytime, at night Hurricane® Plus will be removing any residual humidity from during the day. At night there is usually little or no wind, and unlike rotating ventilators, the Hurricane® Plus design means it is still ventilating without the wind, and is at least 200% more efficient at removing the humidity.
It is essential that for a natural ventilation system to work properly, and continuously over the 24 hours, low level wall inlet louvers are fitted in the building. This ensures the required air changes to reduce the heat and humidity are achieved. We can manufacture, supply and install quality sand trap louvers that will let the air in, but not the sand.
Sand trap louvers work with Hurricane Plus to ventilate effectively in sandy conditions
